About Me

Let me introduce myself: I am Bob Zevering and my passion for cultures and languages has been the driving force behind my career. During my studies in Dutch and English, I traveled extensively and I developed a deep fascination for different cultures. I conducted research on South African (Afrikaans) and Dutch-Indonesian (Nederlands-Indisch) literature from the colonial era, comparing these cultures with Dutch culture. This academic pursuit led me to establish my Culture and Language Company in 1999. Since then, I have provided culture and language training to various multinational corporations.

Working with foreign managers, I continually encounter and am fascinated by cultural differences. I find great satisfaction in discussing these differences and helping clients navigate and overcome them.

In addition to my corporate work, I teach at Webster University Leiden Campus, the only institution in the Netherlands offering American-accredited degrees. As a Senior Lecturer of the Global Citizenship Program, I teach Culture Courses and Dutch to Webster students.

My team

For some of the language and culture courses I work with trainers from a team of dedicated freelancers, language and culture trainers, who share my enthusiasm and are fully qualified, native (or near-native) speakers. Their experience allows them to be flexible and responsive to client needs, aligning their training with participants’ competence and educational levels.
